Ok so I recently had a silly idea pop in my head. Basically there are amateur Quidditch leagues, such as, the semi-professional league, the casual league, the little league, the over 75 league, and the anarchy league.
The rules of the anarchy league are simple:
Don’t deliberately try to kill members of the opposing team
Don’t deliberately injure any member of the audience even if they are rooting for the other team, unless they are attacking you
No living animals can be used instead of brooms
Destroying the snitch counts as the other team catching it
No more than 10 players per team
Every team must have a seeker, keeper, chaser, and beater
No player can fly more than half a mile from the pitch
Regular Quidditch time out rules still apply (captain can call time outs at any time, 2 hours timeouts allowed after 12 hours of play)
That’s it. All sorts of things that would be considered fouls in the other leagues are fair game in the anarchy league. It has the highest injury rate of any amateur or professional league but the players insist it’s far more fun than any other league.
Also, one summer Oliver Wood joined a casual league team because they let underage wizards join with parents permission. He was kicked off the team a week later for “completely missing the point of the casual league”.
